Information:
On Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at approximately 3:14pm, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Green Lake County. Weather spotters were deployed. Shortly after the severe thunderstorm warning, a tornado warning was issued for Green Lake County. Notices and siren activation concerning the tornado warning were provided. At approximately 3:30pm, citizens reported seeing a tornado on the ground in the area of Sth.73 and Cth.D, south east of Princeton. Additional reports of funnel clouds were provided by citizens. Weather spotters were also reporting hail and strong winds. As the storm moved through, reports of damage began to arrive at the dispatch center.
As of 6:00pm, Green Lake County Emergency Management is assessing damage mostly in the Kingston and Dalton area relating to roofs, small structures, tree’s and powerlines. No injuries or loss of life has been reported.
Most County, City, and local emergency services were activated to prepare and/or respond to this severe weather event.
Emergency Management of Green Lake County is expected to generate an updated media release on Wednesday, August 29.
