Information:
At 7:00 am, Tuesday, September 13, 2016, Emergency Management Director Gary Podoll, in conjunction with the State of Wisconsin, began conducting a practice drill for a major disaster. This event is only a drill, however, has involved the call-up and deployment of the Wisconsin Task Force on Search and Rescue from Volk Field in western Wisconsin.

At 1:00 pm, the Green Lake County Emergency Operations Center, located at the Sheriff’s Office in Green Lake, conducted a call-up of local EOC staff and officials who particpated in a briefing of the exercise.

The State of Wisconsin Task Force on Search and Rescue is expected to arrive in Green Lake County and stage in the Green Lake Conference Center at approximately 4:00 pm. The Task Force consists of several large semi tractor/trailer units, other equipment, and their staff. The Task Force will remain active until the evening of Wednesday, September 14.Citizens should not be alarmed or concerned by the presence of the Task Force. There is no emergency or active incident associated to this drill. This is a practice session only.
