Green Lake County, at the southern end of the ‘New North’ region, is located 90 miles northwest of Milwaukee and 180 miles northwest of Chicago in a picturesque area of Central Wisconsin, surrounded by agricultural acres, lakes and a myriad of industrial operations. The county seat is located in the city of Green Lake which takes its name from the state’s deepest lake. The cool, clear waters reach a maximum depth of 237 feet and cover an area 7 ½ miles long and 2 ½ miles wide, bordered by sandy beaches, wooded shoreline and historic resorts.

The historic Fox River runs through two Green Lake County communities, Berlin and Princeton. With a total of 20 lakes and the river, the County offers good opportunities for recreation….. boating, fishing and swimming. Biking, hiking and snowmobile trails can be found throughout the County. With hundreds of acres of public hunting grounds, Green Lake County has become a favorite destination for hunters.

Three excellent golf courses are located in the County with an award-winning course at Berlin, one of the oldest courses in the State at Green Lake and a third course located at the Green Lake Conference Center.

Princeton is home to “Wisconsin’s Largest Weekly Outdoor Flea Market” operating during the summer months. Several of the communities offer “Concerts in the Park” and all sport museums to showcase their past including a one-room schoolhouse and a train depot.

Each of the four major municipalities of Green Lake County; Berlin, Green Lake, Markesan and Princeton support industrial partners. Badger Mining, a sand producing firm, has been around for over 100 years and is located in several communities around the County with its headquarters in Berlin. Magnum Products, a world-leader in mobile generators, light towers and other construction industry-based products, is located in one of Berlin’s three industrial parks. Del Monte Corporation operates in the middle of Markesan’s farming country. Other manufacturers around the County specialize in products made from plastics to metals. Most of the NFL, NBA and college sport uniforms are produced at RAJ in Berlin. Several trucking companies are available to move the County’s products and produce.

A quality health care system headed by Community Health Network, with a full service hospital in Berlin and satellite clinics in each community, take care of the all the County’s residents and visitors. Elementary and high schools are located in each of the four major municipalities. The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County offers a wide variety of activities. The County and the communities offer a wide variety of parks and open spaces with a myriad of activities.
