September 15 @ 6:00 pm CDT
Due to recent increased activity of COVID-19 in Green Lake County and concern for the health and safety of our residents, the County Board meeting on Tuesday, September 15 will be limited to remote access only other than county staff and presenters. Individuals with audio and/or visual handicaps will be allowed to attend in person by contacting the County Clerk’s office prior to the meeting. Anyone unable to attend the meeting in person or remotely through Zoom that evening will be able to access a recording of it on Wednesday, September 16 under the News tab on the county website. No action will be taken on the county wide ambulance issue at this meeting.
According to Green Lake County Health Officer Kathy Munsey, the WI Department of Health Services uses metrics to determine COVID 19 activity in every jurisdiction. Currently in Green Lake County, the burden of COVID disease is rated as high and the trajectory is also high and growing. “This means that we are going in the wrong direction and seeing more positive cases and more COVID activity rather than a downward trend. Specifically, in the first five months since COVID 19 appeared, we had 52 total positives. In August alone, Green Lake County had 42 positive cases and in just the first 10 days of September, we have had 30 new cases! For the safety of our community, these metrics mean we have to change the way we do business to keep our community safe and well”, Munsey stated.
All persons interested in expressing an opinion on the county wide ambulance issue are encouraged to fill out the form available on the link below. These forms will be submitted directly to the County Clerk’s office and distributed to all County Board supervisors for review. Each form MUST be filled out in it’s entirety with a valid name and address in order to be considered. Anonymous submissions will not be considered. The deadline for submitting the form is October 16, 2020. The form is also available under the News tab on the county website.
