Changes to Green Lake County Programs for Seniors

Due to an abundance of caution and based on recommendations from Governor Evers, our local public health authorities and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for implementing social distancing guidelines to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Green Lake County will be changing how programs for Seniors are delivered. 

Beginning Wednesday March 18, 2020, the Berlin Senior Center will close to the public until further notice.  This will affect the Meal services offered through the Green Lake County Nutrition Program and prepared at the Berlin Senior Center.  Meal services will continue to home-bound individuals. Meals will also be available for pick-up at the Berlin Senior Center from 11:00 -11:30 am. Individuals requesting meals for pick-up must call 920-361-5422 the day before to sign up. 

Homebound meals in Markesan, Kingston, Dalton, Green Lake and Princeton will continue to be delivered as they currently are.  The Markesan and Green Lake meal site will be closed to dine-in services.  You will be able to pick up a take-out meal at the dining sites between 11:00 and 11:30 but you must order the meal the day before by contacting the respective meal-site. 

Transportation services through the Berlin Senior Van, Southern Green Lake County Senior Transportation Services, the City of Princeton and the City of Green Lake will continue to be available for essential services such and medical appointments and groceries.  We will not be providing transportation for social events at this time.

The Green Lake County Food Pantry will be open for distribution every Tuesday from 10:00 to Noon, however, there will be changes in how the food is distributed.

1. Participants will not be allowed inside the building and will remain in their vehicles.

• Volunteer/Staff will hand out numbers to participants and assist with registration (gloves will be provided).

• Volunteer/Staff may sign and date the back of the registration card for the participant.

• Volunteer/Staff will collect pre-bagged  food/personal care items and  take these to the participants vehicle.

The Memory Café and the Caregivers Support Groups will be suspended until further notice. 

The NFCSP and AFCSP programs will continue as usual, if you have questions please call you worker to get clarification.
