Information:

The below information is in response to media requests concerning the Facebook post and images from the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office received information that a Township of Kingston resident had an excessive amount of dogs that were in poor condition. Deputy staff arrived and confirmed that while approximately 42 dogs were being fed and watered, they were filthy and living in poor conditions (urine and feces) also having limited vaccinations. A Deputy trained as a humane officer cooperatively negotiated a surrender of the dogs to the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter to receive proper care.

On Saturday, July 11, 2015, a Green Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy stood by while representatives from the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter removed the dogs from the home and outbuildings.   This voluntary surrender of the animals took place without incident and with great effort by the shelter.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office will be referring charges to the District Attorney for animal neglect. The suspect, a 55 year old Green Lake County female, will not be named publically until the criminal complaint has been filed.
