Information:      On Friday, January 14, 2011, 12:37pm, the Green Lake County Emergency Communications Center received a report of men breaking through the ice on Big Green Lake.  The location was reported to be South and East of Hattie Sherwood Beach just South of the City of Green Lake.  City of Green Lake Police and Sheriff's Officials arrived on the scene, 12:42pm, and found the three men involved safe and dry.  The men were manuevering an ice shanty at this location when the shanty broke through the ice.   

   Responding units to the scene were the City of Green Lake Police, Green Lake Sheriff's Deputies, Green Lake Fire Department, Ripon Gurdian Ambulance, Brooklyn First Responders, and Princeton Water/Ice Rescue.

   No citizens or responding staff were injured as a result of this incident.  Citizens are reminded to exercise caution and good judgment while using any frozen body of water.
