Information: At 12:19am, Sunday, December 12th, 2010, the Green Lake County Sheriff's Communicaitons Center received a call for assistance at Thomas Rd. and Searl Rd. in the Township of Green Lake. The caller reported that their vehicle had gone into the ditch near this location and the occupants, a male and female, decided to walk home cross country. The two individauls, Courtney L. Martinez, age 18, Markesan, and Adam A. Respalje, age 21, Ripon, reported by cell phone that they were cold and unable to go further. Martinez and Respalje advised that they had taken shelter in a fenceline, in open fields, and that they were covered in by snow. Markesan Fire and Emergency Government, Markesan EMS, and First Responders were paged. Sheriff's Deputies were also sent to the scene by truck and snowmobile.Both subjects were located approximatley one-quarter mile South of Thomas Rd. at 1:52am. Rescue efforts were complicated by snow and blowing snow conditions. A citizen with a large tractor plowed a path to the individuals who were removed from the field by a truck. Both subjects were transported to the Ripon Medical Center where they were treated and released.
