Press Release: Injury Investigation (Infant)

At 12:19pm, Monday, December 28, 2009, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office #E911 Center received a medical call concerning a juvenile male not breathing. The location of the incident was at the corner of Sth.23 and Sth.73 within the Township of Princeton, Green Lake County. Princeton EMS and Deputies were dispatched to the scene. Further information obtained at the time of the call was that an infant male, age 3, had been found by a parent, entangled in a cord.


At 12:23pm a local Princeton EMS member arrived on scene and assisted in life saving efforts. At 12:25pm the Princeton EMS crew and a Sheriff’s Detective arrived on the scene. The infant male was immediately transported to the Berlin Memorial Hospital. At approximately 2:00pm the infant was flown to the Milwaukee Children’s Hospital by a Theda Star Medical helicopter. The infant remains at Children’s Hospital in critical condition.


Preliminary indications are that the child may have been playing with a toy bag which has a rope attached. The child became entangled in the rope from an elevated position. An investigation into the incident is on-going by Sheriff’s Detectives. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
